This fruit juice option does contain a moderate amount of sugary carbohydrates, though they carry a low glycemic load. Pineapple juice contains hardly any protein, so the beverage does not serve as a viable source.

If you want something a little different, try this tropical treat: Juice the pineapple and then pour the juice in a glass. Get some fresh coconut milk and pour some on top of the juice. Mix it with a spoon and drink. The ultimate bring-me-to-the-island-vacation drink.
